Oakwood Park Polo Club

Welcome to Oakwood Park Polo Club – The Sussex home of County Polo. Oakwood Park Polo Club was the first polo club in Sussex to be fully HPA affiliated all the year round, offering a full calendar of events for both Winter and Summer.

You can find the club at Oakwood Park (formerly Oakwood Park Showgrounds), Maresfield, Uckfield, East Sussex TN22 2AQ. Click here to find it on Google.

(Please use Google maps for the most accurate directions. N.B. Most other Satellite navigation systems will take you into Maresfield village).

History of the club

Francis Matthews started the club in 1999 at The Royal Leisure Centre in Henfield, West Sussex but quickly outgrew the venue and moved to West End Farm, Gatehouse Lane, Goddards Green in 2002.

The club originated as an arena club only, and moved onto grass by popular demand in 2003, gaining full affiliation to the HPA for both winter and summer polo in 2004/05.

In 2017 FHM found a new permanent home at Oakwood Park which is a purpose built polo facility.

In 2019 FHM was renamed Oakwood Park Polo Club in honour of its new home. Oakwood Park Polo Club now has full sized purpose built laser boarded County Polo Ground (300m x 150m), and a smaller ground to support the county polo version of the game.
